15 years photographing Schnucks weekly circular
Schnucks is a regional supermarket chain in the St. Louis area. For 15 years, I was the lead photographer and main point of contact for their weekly advertising circular: the newspaper insert and in-store marketing millions of shoppers see every week.

Client overview
Schnucks is a well-known regional supermarket chain serving the St. Louis, Missouri area. Their weekly advertising circular runs in newspapers and appears in stores: product shots, food photography, and promotional imagery at a scale most local businesses never touch.
Schnucks chose our studio for the work. I served as lead photographer and the main liaison between Schnucks' corporate creative team and our team of photographers, food stylists, and set stylists.

The problem
A weekly circular is not a one-time shoot. It's a production machine. Every week, new products, new layouts, new deadlines. Schnucks needed consistent, high-quality food and grocery photography on a schedule that never stopped.
That requires more than a camera. It requires logistics: coordinating the client, food stylists, set stylists, studio resources, and a creative team that includes Schnucks' creative director and art directors on set.

How we started
Schnucks selected our studio to produce photography for their weekly advertising circular. What started as a high-volume retail assignment became a 15-year ongoing relationship built on consistency, quality, and trust.
I was the lead photographer and main point of contact between Schnucks' corporate creative team and our production crew.

What I did

Weekly food & grocery photography
Photographed grocery products and food for Schnucks' weekly circular every week for 15 years. Imagery for newspaper inserts and in-store marketing seen across the St. Louis region.

Production leadership
Lead photographer managing a team of up to three photographers per week. Main point of contact between Schnucks corporate creative and our studio team.

On-set client collaboration
Full production days with Schnucks' creative director and art directors on set. Food stylist and set stylist in the studio. Weekly pre-production meetings.

Scheduling & logistics
Coordinated scheduling and logistics between the client, stylists, studio, and photography team so a large-scope weekly project stayed on track, week after week.

What this means for similar businesses
Schnucks is not a one-product ecommerce shoot. It's commercial photography at scale: food styling, grocery products, client creative on set, and a deadline that comes every single week.
That experience shaped how I work today. Whether you're a regional retailer, a grocery brand, or a food business that needs volume photography done right, this is the background behind the work.
